Abstract

In the past period of ten years, there has been an enormous and irreversible shift towards wireless adhoc networks. Unlike traditional mobile wireless networks, ad hoc networks are self-configurable and infra structureless. The dynamic topology of adhoc nodes opens the door for dangerous attacks like Selective Forwarding, Denial of Service and, wormhole. Most of the existing solutions proposed are inefficient with high communication overhead and time consuming in attack detection. This challenges to design a solution with less routing overhead and high accuracy. The setup under consideration involves a wireless adhoc network that is divided into clusters. A Trust entropy-based routing protocol, which makes use of trust entropy values calculated from all nodes, is implemented to exclude the attacker node in the re-routing process. © 2018 IEEE.
