The spectrum of two dimensional basic signals (including images) is analyzed from the point of view of diffraction patterns.Using Rect and Circ functions we have demonstrated that the Fourier transform of the above functions correspond to diffraction patterns of rectangular slit and circular aperture. Using Gaussian function, we showed that Fourier transform of a Gaussian is a time correlated Gaussian function where the evolution of the central region is weakly correlated to the farthest point.
